SO GOD DAMN CLOSE!

This past Saturday I attended the Scotia BJJ Cup 2012 and left with a silver medal in my division.

I was so close to getting the gold. I completely destroyed the first guy with an arm triangle choke or in my instructors words; "I went total ape on his ass."

But in the 2nd fight lost by 1 advantage point which is basically not even half of a point!

If I had a different referee I could have won as at the end of the 2nd fight I swept the guy over and didn't receive any points, then the timer ran out. A different referee might have gave me the points. Putting me in the lead by 2 points.

Anyway, I'm happy with silver considering it was my first ever BJJ competition. BUT...next time silver won't be good enough!

To claim what is rightfully mine

On Saturday, the 24th of March, I shall claim what is rightfully mine.

I will enter my first Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) competition. I am in the age band 12-15 years and the highest weight category (65KG+) and I am already 80KG. So I am 15KG over the minumum. That is roughly 4 weight classes of a difference. There is only 3 of us in the division.

I BEAT DEATH!

Recently I have been working at my gran's restraunt doing some 'odd' jobs. I was supposed to be cutting the grass on the 11th but the night before, my gran had a dream. She had dreamed that I was cutting the grass and ran over the wire. The lawnmower did not have a circuit braker so I electrocuted myself and died. So she sent her husband straight to the restraunt to check if the lawnmower had a circuit breaker. Which it didn't. So I was from that point on 'banned' from cutting the grass.

I have beaten death and now I feel like I am in a Final Destination movie.
